Saving For a Storm was founded by Dani and Melanie Voorhees in 2019. One hot summer afternoon, a friend's pit bull named Storm was rushed to the vet hospital with heat stroke. The hospital told Storm's owner that she either had to pay for the life-saving services that night (which she could not afford), or Storm would have to traumatically pass away at home.

In a panic, Storm's mom called us up and we were able to mitigate the situation. Despite the odds, Storm is as happy and healthy as ever! Since that day, we have heard of multiple instances where a dog in need has been denied life saving medical treatment due to financial means.

We believe that no dog should be left to die because of their owner's inability to pay. Therefore, we created Saving For a Storm.

What does SFAS do?

After an extensive selection and application process, we fund life-saving emergency medical services for pets. We also have a small shelter where we can take in animals to find their fur-ever homes!

What SFAS does NOT do:

We do not fund medical treatment that is not life-threatening or an immediate emergency basis. Examples include regular vet check-ups, vaccinations, cancer treatment, broken limbs, etc.

How can I help?

Donations can be made through Paypal on our website homepage or on our Facebook page. We also have donation jars at Zelda's Pet Grooming. You can become a SFAS Member! You can also purchase items off our Amazon list. Lastly, you can adopt one of our adoptable animals!
